Our Story

Lubbock Impact is a faith-based nonprofit that has been serving the Lubbock community since 2007. We have been on a mission to empower the working poor by providing enrichment programs and resources to meet physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. This provides the hope and tools to break generational poverty and build a stronger future. Lubbock Impact comes alongside individuals to help in the areas of food, clothing, healthcare, spiritual care, and enrichment programs.

In March of 2007, Trinity Baptist Church called Dan Reynolds to be its pastor with the intention of starting a new church that had community outreach as its mission. For many years, Trinity had been a thriving church. But, as southwest Lubbock grew and people relocated, the congregation of Trinity dwindled down to twenty-three members. Twenty-one of those members were elderly; two of them were college students. Dan and his small congregation wanted the building on the corner of 34th and Boston to be a blessing to its neighborhood. Calling on Bacon Heights Baptist Church, Trinity asked for help on their mission. Four families from BHBC joined Trinity and began to serve the central Lubbock neighborhood, not fully knowing how big of an impact that decision would make. Looking back on the early days of Lubbock Impact, it was evident that the guidance of the Lord was strong.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

Lubbock Impact seeks to empower participants with the tools and knowledge to have positive, lasting impacts in their lives. A way we do this is by offering classes throughout the year. Faith and Finance classes partner participants with volunteers who teach them how to steward their money. Work-Life classes help participants understand ways to honor God through their work.
