Lubbock Impact happens because our community comes together.

When you walk through our doors and see needs being met, a bright and welcoming space, and high-quality care being offered, you know that it is all there because people in Lubbock choose to give back and show up for their neighbors.

That spirit was on full display at this year’s State of the City address, where local businesses and individuals gathered not just to stay connected, but to invest in the future of our city. As shared during the event, it’s “a chance for our industry to come together, hear directly from city leadership, and stay connected to what’s shaping Lubbock’s future.”

But just as important, the Lubbock Apartment Association, the Presenting Sponsor for this event, sees it as a chance to give back.

Thanks to the incredible leadership of the Lubbock Apartment Association and the support of so many in the room, Lubbock Impact was honored to be selected by Mayor Mark McBrayer as the recipient of $15,200 in proceeds from the luncheon.

The mission of Lubbock Impact is only possible because of a community that believes in showing up. What happens inside Lubbock Impact doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s the result of a city that truly wraps around its own and its people who respond to the needs they see with generosity, compassion, and action.

As Becky Robertson, Lubbock Impact’s Executive Director, shared in response to this gift, “Thank you to the Lubbock Apartment Association for your incredible generosity… You help us move forward and care for our neighbors!”

We are deeply grateful to the Lubbock Apartment Association for their initiative and heart for this city. We’re also thankful for Mayor McBrayer, whose continued advocacy and personal investment in this ministry have meant so much.

And to every person who attended, sponsored, or supported the State of the City, this is your impact, too.

This is what it looks like when a city takes care of its own.
