Nearly one year ago, we opened the doors to the Foundations of Healing Medical Clinic with a simple prayer: that every person who walked through our doors would know they were seen, cared for, and worthy of quality healthcare. Since then, we’ve watched that prayer come to life.
Over the past year, we’ve met individuals who have spent years putting their own health on hold because they simply couldn’t afford to see a doctor. Many are working hard to provide for themselves and their families while quietly living with chronic conditions like hypertension, obesity, and diabetes. Without consistent medical care, those conditions often become barriers not only to good health, but to stable employment, caring for loved ones, and building a better future.
That’s why we’re so grateful to share that Lubbock Impact has been awarded a $100,000 Working Texans Economic Opportunity Grant from Texas Mutual Insurance Company. This investment comes at a meaningful time as the Foundations of Healing Medical Clinic approaches its first anniversary this September.
During the first year, our medical team spent time listening, learning, and understanding the unique needs of our patients. That led to the development of our HOD (Hypertension, Obesity and Diabetes) Program, where more than 200 patients have already received personalized education, health monitoring equipment, and ongoing support to better manage chronic illness.
As we enter our second year, this grant allows us to build upon that foundation. One exciting addition will be Nutrition for Life, a new program that will provide HOD participants with practical nutrition education and healthy eating strategies that fit real life. Because lasting health isn’t just about having access to a doctor, it’s about having the knowledge, tools, and support to make sustainable changes every day.
Every blood pressure brought under control, every A1C lowered, every healthy meal prepared, and every patient who feels empowered to take charge of their health is a reminder that healing extends far beyond the walls of our clinic.
We’re honored to be one of just 62 nonprofits across Texas selected as a 2026 Working Texans Economic Opportunity Grant partner. More importantly, we’re grateful that this investment means more of our neighbors will have the opportunity to experience hope, healing, and a healthier future.
