As summer is coming to a close, the last couple of weeks have been filled with community gatherings. From the end of our Kid’s Camp to the Back-to-School party and National Night Out, we have been enjoying relationship building moments. 

Amidst the busyness, there are moments that stop everything, reminding us that we are a part of God’s plan. As we developed a plan for National Night Out, our goal was to encourage and show support for our first responders as well as connect them with our Lubbock Impact family. There was one family in particular that desperately needed that connection. As a newer participant approached me, I noticed a medical bracelet on his wrist, and he shared that he recently had a heart attack. After he was released from the hospital, his first stop was Lubbock Impact. Because he had been out of work for two weeks following a heart attack, his family was left without food. In God’s timing, they came on the perfect night! They were able to receive dinner courtesy of First Baptist Church, fresh corn from Faith 2 Farm, a gallon of milk donated from some local friends, a prayer of healing from Lubbock Unified Church, and a snow cone as they waited in line for a huge bag of food from the South Plains Food Bank. What an amazing God wink to remind this family that God sees His need and makes provision! What a great reminder of the goodness of God! 

On another note of God’s goodness, the clinic has received certificate of occupancy as of the end of July! Lots of planning and preparation is going into the Foundations of Healing medical clinic opening in September. We can’t wait to see this vision become a reality within a matter of weeks. I can’t wait for you to come see this blessing to our community.
