Food & Hygiene Pantry
The Food & Hygiene Pantry helps provide everyday essentials to those in need. Set up with the participant in mind, The Food & Hygiene pantry is intended to reflect a real-life shopping experience. All of the items in the pantry are priced at a reduced dollar value and each shopper is given a seven-dollar budget to use on items they need the most. This money does not have actual cash value but gives each shopper the freedom to decide what pantry and hygiene products they need the most.
Lubbock Impact seeks to keep the Food & Hygiene Pantry stocked with various choices to meet shoppers’ dietary needs. There is a range of pantry staples, such as canned fruits, vegetables, and meats, as well as items like oil, flour, sugar, and spices. Vital hygiene items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper, laundry detergent, and soaps are also available.
The Food & Hygiene Pantry is open on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm and Thursday mornings from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Participants are eligible to shop at the Food & Hygiene Pantry every 30 days to help maintain a consistent supply of essentials. No appointment is necessary.
On the first Tuesday of every month, free hygiene bags sponsored by Superior HealthPlan are given to participants. Participants are able to choose up to five items of what they need the most. These items range from soap, lotion, disinfectant wipes, household cleaners, and more.
The Food & Hygiene Pantry stays stocked because of individuals, businesses, churches, or food drives that donate goods.
