As we step into a new year, I wanted to take a moment to share how God blessed Lubbock Impact over the holidays.

One blessing happened about two weeks before Christmas when we received a call from a volunteer. They had some extra Christmas gifts and wondered if we could put them to good use. I said sure, not knowing how God would use those gifts.

Within a few hours of that call, a woman with a heavy heart walked into our doors. I sat down with her and listened to her story. She had four kids and they were on the verge of losing their home. Along with sharing some local resources, I was able to pray with her. I reminded her that God sees her needs and loves her in the details. That He wants to hold her and carry her burdens. As we closed out our conversation, I asked her if she had any Christmas gifts for her children. She told me that she had not been able to even consider gifts for them. In that moment, I immediately knew why God had called our volunteer to donate gifts that same morning.

This is one of many stories we could tell of God using His people to bless those in need over the recent months. Time and time again, we have seen people come to our doors to pour out gifts because of Christ’s love.

Winter months are often the hardest for our participants, both physically and emotionally. We are honored to bear down with them and offer physical provisions that God has been storing up. Provisions that you and our community have donated. As we prepare for winter, we will look to the One who holds us in His hands.
