A long-awaited wheelchair lift has been installed on the clinic side of Lubbock Impact! The process to meet this need has been long and tedious to make sure that patient needs are met properly. The need for the lift was recognized many years ago but finances have hindered the project. Two years ago, requests were written to foundations to find funding for this $65,000 project. Lubbock Impact’s operation budget could not be used for this type of project and Lubbock Impact does not incur debt. The Anderson Foundation offered $15,000 towards the project. That was the money needed to get the project going. Lubbock Impact then had its first-ever fundraiser off-location to raise funds for this project. From the generosity of donors, the project was fully funded. Then it was a long process of having it manufactured. When the lift arrived in November it was welcomed with cheers! The lift will allow patients with physical disabilities to be served on the second floor of the clinic where the dental clinic, eye clinic, and ophthalmology clinics are located. To God be the glory!
