It’s hard to believe that six months have passed since I joined the Lubbock Impact family! You all have welcomed me with open arms and hearts, and for that, I say thank you.
Each week, I have enjoyed meeting the families and individuals of Lubbock Impact, as well as the volunteers and donors who serve with great passion. Our participants have expressed so much gratitude for the encouragement and support they’ve received through the unique ministries we offer.
Recently we have seen a steady increase in participants who have benefited from all of our programs. The clinics have been full, the food ministries have provided much-needed meals, families have shopped for school clothes in the clothing closets, Wednesday worship services have been well attended, and our children’s ministry has been focused on learning scripture. It blesses me to hear the kids come running up to say, “Mrs. Becky, I know my scripture!”
My heart’s cry for the Lubbock Impact family is that we daily live out Deuteronomy 6:5-9, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commands that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
This scripture reminds me that we are called to continually talk of the goodness of God. May anyone who comes in passing or who enters Lubbock Impact hear of Jesus and His power to heal their physical and emotional needs.
